If you or someone you love experienced sexual abuse as a child, she or he is not alone. 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be a victim before the age of 18. Child sexual abuse is a crime of power and control - not sex. Survivors typically know and trust the person who abused them. Regardless of the situation, the abuser is to blame, not the victim.

If you or someone you love is still suffering from the effects of sexual abuse, we can help. PAAR understands that this is not something that victims can just forget. Some of the problems survivors face may be buried in the past. Adult survivors often suffer from a variety of symptoms that include:

PAAR offers free counseling to adult victims of childhood sexual abuse. Both individual and group counseling is available by calling PAAR’s main office at 412.431.5665. For friends and family of survivors, group workshops are also available. All counseling and workshops are free.
