Understanding Self-Injury Workbook Self-injury, such as cutting or burning your body, is one of the least understood effects of trauma. Often mistaken as a suicide attempt, self-injury is instead a means to cope with trauma. This workbook, written by PAAR staff, aims to look into the connections of self-injury with childhood trauma, understand dissociation and develop alternative ways to cope with the feelings that lead to self-injury. In addition, this book encourages people to speak about self-injury in ways that are honest and non-blaming. |
