WHAT IS CBIM?
“Coaching Boys into Men,” is a research-based, program that engages male coaches to serve as role models and mentors to male athletes to prevent sexual violence. The established bond that coaches have with their players is used as a vehicle for coaches to promote respect and healthy relationships, counter sexual and relationship violence, and encourage young men to get involved to prevent violence. CBIM equips coaches to talk with their athletes about respect for women and girls and that violence doesn’t equal strength. Through CBIM, athletes learn skills to build safe and healthy relationships.
CBIM is a leadership program which can be implemented in the locker room, before or after team practices, or in the off-season. It addresses:– Personal responsibility – Insulting language – Online behavior – Understanding consent – Managing Aggression – Dating and respect
