The Child and Family Counseling Center at PAAR has provided specialized trauma treatment services to child and adolescent victims of sexual abuse and their families for over 35 years. PAAR’s clients’ ages range from 2-18 years of age.
Sexual abuse can have long-lasting effects not only on children, but also on the entire family. Therefore, PAAR addresses the needs of the child victim and the entire family/caregivers through a variety of Evidence Based Practices.
PAAR’s comprehensive treatment approach includes: Trauma -Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and Parent and Family Counseling based on Attachment Theory and Bowen Family Systems.
Our facility has two dedicated art studios and play therapy rooms for children. PAAR’s Child and Family Counseling Center staff has over 73 years of combined experience working with children and families. The Director of the CFCC is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Staff is comprised of four master’s level therapists, two of which have been working with victims for over 10 years, and two Licensed Clinical Social Workers.
