PAAR has adopted the National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s principles for programming:

• Preventing first-time perpetration and victimization
• Reducing risk factors while enhancing protective factors associated with sexual violence perpetration and victimization
• Using evidence when planning prevention programs
• Evaluating prevention efforts and using results to improve future program plans

The Social Ecological Model

Ending sexual violence requires working across all levels of the social ecological model. The individual is rooted in relationships, surrounded by the community, which exists in the context of society. 

PAAR’s educational programs will focus upon the primary prevention of sexual violence; a world without sexual violence.

Programs for youth

PAAR works to end sexual violence by promoting healthy relationships and engaging adults in the community. PAAR’s programs work to improve social and problem-solving skills and create a sense of independence and competency in youth.

Programs are  multiple sessions and appropriate for youth in all settings:

• Gender stereotypes
• Media literacy
• Rape myths
• Consent
• Healthy relationships
• Bystander interventions

PAAR’s programs involve adults and the community through:

• Educational workshops
• Sexual harassment and sexual violence policy review and revision
• Reinforcing messages discussed in youth sessions
• Coalition building  to promote healthy relationships and safety for youth
