- Speak out against gender stereotypes and promote equality
- Stick together—make sure everyone gets home safely
- Challenge others who blame the victim —here are some things you can say: "It’s never the victim’s fault," "No one asks to be raped," "It doesn’t matter what you wear, where you went, or what you did."
At Work
- Challenge sexist jokes, rumors, comments, and emails
- Promote a safe and respectful workplace
- Believe and support co-workers experiencing sexual harassment
- Talk to your supervisor about safety—is there proper lighting in the parking lot, is there a buddy system to walk cars at night, is the building secure
In Your Community
- Be aware —most of the time people are hurt by someone they know and trust
- Invite PAAR to speak at your school, church or community organization
- Volunteer at PAAR
- Call or write elected officials to support programs working to stop sexual violence
- Speak up when you hear sexist jokes or rumors
- Ask your community group to host a PAAR internet safety class
- Support PAAR’s work and donate to the cause or have a fundraiser
